Why Students Need a Structured IGCSE Physics Tutor
IGCSE Physics is not just memorising formulas. Students need to connect concepts, choose the right equations, explain observations clearly, read graphs, and show working in the style expected by Cambridge or Edexcel examiners.
Adrian's lessons focus on clear explanations, worked examples, common misconception fixes, and past-year paper technique. Each session is adapted to the student's current weaknesses, whether the issue is mechanics, electricity, waves, thermal physics, or answering theory questions.

Can you help with the practical paper or Alternative to Practical?
Yes. Cambridge 0625 students sit either Paper 5 (Practical Test) or Paper 6 (Alternative to Practical).
- Planning an experiment
- Drawing tables and graphs, and reading scales
- Describing sources of error and improvements
Edexcel 4PH1 tests practical skills inside the written papers, so the same skills are practised there too.
Should my child sit Core or Extended Physics?
Students planning A-Level or Foundation science should usually sit Extended.
Core
Grades C to G only.
Extended
Grades A* to E.
Adrian can help you judge which tier fits after a trial lesson.
My child understands the topic but still loses marks. Why?
This is very common in Physics. Marks are usually lost on how the answer is written.
- Explanation questions without the key words mark schemes look for
- Missing units or wrong significant figures
- Not showing the equation used
Lessons practise the wording that mark schemes reward, so understanding turns into marks.
How do you help with formulas and equations?
Instead of only memorising a list, students learn what each equation means and when to use it.
- Rearranging equations with confidence
- Short regular quizzes keep them fresh
- Past-paper questions show how they combine in longer problems
Do you also teach IGCSE Maths?
Yes. Many Physics students also take IGCSE Maths or Add Maths, and lessons for both can be planned together.
- The subjects support each other: graphs, rearranging formulas and vectors
