Build a Strong Foundation for SPM Mathematics

SPM Mathematics builds directly on Form 1–3 fundamentals, and gaps from earlier years are often the real reason students struggle in Form 4 and 5. Adrian Wong, a Monash University-trained engineer, tutors students 1-on-1, identifying and closing those gaps before focusing on SPM exam technique.

Lessons are available online via Google Meet or Zoom nationwide.

SPM Maths Tuition FAQ

My child is in Form 4 but weak in Form 1 to 3 topics. Can you help?

Yes. Many Form 4 and 5 topics depend on algebra, fractions and graphs from lower secondary.

  • First, find and fix those earlier gaps
  • Then move on to the Form 4 and 5 syllabus, so new topics stop feeling impossible
What does the SPM Mathematics exam look like?

SPM Mathematics (1449) has two papers, and lessons practise both styles.

Paper 1 · Objective

Multiple choice. Practise speed and accuracy.

Paper 2 · Subjective

Structured and longer questions. Practise clear, complete working.

Which Form 4 and 5 topics do students find hardest?

Usually the chapters that mix calculation with reading long questions:

  • Graphs of Motion
  • Measures of Dispersion
  • Matrices and Variation
  • Consumer Mathematics: insurance and taxation

These get extra worked examples and practice in lessons.

Should my child take Add Maths as well?

For the science stream, or anyone aiming at a science, engineering or business course, Add Maths is usually worth taking.

  • A strong base in SPM Maths makes Add Maths much easier
  • Lessons for both subjects can be planned together
